Detroit --Detroit Police announced today it has reclassified the number of homicides for 2008 as 375, 36 more than previously reported. One month after The Detroit News reported the department systematically undercounts homicides, Detroit Mayor Dave Bing today said the statistics "called for a reconciliation of data to determine an accurate number of homicides" in the city.
